AFTERCARE (Post procedure)

The healing process varies from client to client based on many factors. This could include, but is not limited to: the artist's technique, pigments used, aftercare instructions, whether or not two techniques were combined, as well as just overall how someone's body and skin reacts to the procedure.
Some of the most common things clients can expect after a Microblading/PMU procedure are:
-
Day 1: mild tenderness in the area, swelling and slight pink/redness around the area
-
Days 2-3: darkening of the area or residual reddish pigment flakiness, moderate scabbing (the 'dark' stage)
-
Days 4-8: scabs will begin to flake off anytime between days 4-5 and in some cases lasting a little longer
-
After scabs flake off, pigment colour and/or strokes will look very light, faded and blurry (the 'awkward' stage)
-
After area is fully healed (approx 4 weeks after procedure) the pigment will have a more intense color (the 'return' stage)

You will be provided with Aftercare written instructions as well as products to use during the healing process. In a nutshell:
-
The day of the treatment: Wash or Wipe the treated area very often to absorb excess lymph fluid. Removing this fluid prevents hardening of the lymph and developing thick crusty scabs. You will have to do this every 30 minutes up to every 2 hours for the whole day, depending on the treated area.
-
Days 2-8: Wash & Moisturise: depending on treated area, you will wash daily to remove bacteria and apply a rice grain amount of aftercare ointment with clean fingers. Be careful not to over-apply as this will suffocate your skin and delay healing. The ointment should be barely noticeable on the skin, a very thin film that only makes the skin shiny. Of course never put the ointment on a wet or damp area, it has to be gently dabbed dry before.
-
Specific Aftercare instructions are given for each individual procedure.

Other useful Dos & Don'ts:
-
Use a fresh, clean pillowcase
-
Use clean tissues to dry the treated area after washing, not your towel
-
Let any scabbing or dry skin naturally exfoliate away. Picking can cause scarring or loss of color
-
No facials, chemical treatments or microdermabrasion for 4 weeks after the procedure
-
Avoid intense, sweaty exercising for 2 weeks
-
Avoid direct sun exposure or tanning for 4 weeks after procedure. Wear a hat when outdoors if it is sunny
-
Avoid heavy sweating and long hot showers for the first 10 days
-
Avoid sleeping on your face for the first 10 days
-
Avoid public swimming, lakes, jacuzzis for the first 10 days
-
Avoid applying any makeup on the treated area
-
Do not rub, pick or scratch the treated area !
-
Showering & washing your hair immediately after the procedure
Preferably you do not wash your hair in the first 2 days after the procedure. For the whole 'scabby' period take 5 minutes showers so you do not create too much steam. Keep your face/procedure out of the water while you wash your body, then, at the end of your shower, wash your hair quickly. Your face should only be getting wet at the very last end of the shower. Avoid excessive rinsing and hot water on the treated area and dab dry immediately after.
-
Under no circumstances have laser hair removal or any other invasive procedure (excepting medical emergencies) during healing time and/or minimum 2 months after the treatment

Remember! The healed result will be clearly visible after ONE MONTH. Any needed touch-up will be done minimum 5 - 8 weeks after initial procedure.
